DR. DAVID FORSTADT PSYD, LMHC, LPCC, LPC


Dr. David D. Forstadt is a psychotherapist with a doctorate in clinical psychology and more than 15 years of experience in behavioral health. He specializes in addiction, dual-diagnosis populations, and comprehensive clinical testing protocols. Known for an outcomes-driven yet human approach, he integrates research-based methods with warm, inclusive care so progress is both experienced and measured.

Educated in upstate New York, Dr. Forstadt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Daemen College; a Master of Science in Community Mental Health from Canisius College; and both a Master of Science in Psychology and a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from Medaille College. During his practica and residency, he trained extensively in psychological testing and clinical outcome measurement across forensic and residential settings.

An expert in clinical program development, integrative care, and empirically based interventions, Dr. Forstadt has created, consulted with, and restructured multiple treatment facilities across the United States to elevate the quality and inclusiveness of services. He serves on the Clinical Council Committee Board for Odyssey Behavioral Health, is Nationally Board-Certified, licensed across multiple states, and has authored peer-reviewed publications in international journals focused on substance use and mental health.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Dr. Forstadt is committed to expanding access to inclusive, affirmative care. His advocacy centers on minority stress and on challenging social paradigms that perpetuate stigma around mental health and addiction. He has devoted much of his career to improving care for populations historically underserved or marginalized by traditional treatment models.

Clinically, Dr. Forstadt emphasizes meticulous assessment, culturally responsive care, and integrative treatment planning—pairing clear diagnostics with practical, evidence-based interventions.
